Self Care is a hot topic, but what does it actually mean, and how can you implement it into your own routine?

Self Care is essentially taking time out for yourself to reset, relax and refresh.

As a team who specialise in helping others with their Life Admin, we aim to give you time to practice self care and kindness to yourself. Here are some of our top tips for making yourself feel fresh and ready to take on the world!

1. Listen to Your Body: Physical changes occur when you’re stressed out and if you pay attention you’ll notice clear signs from your body, such as a tight neck or sore shoulders. Taking time away from working at a desk to stretch and relax your body is important. Making an appointment for a relaxation massage is a great way to reset, or even taking a quick walk around the block is a way to lose yourself in your thoughts, take time to breathe and experience the moment in the sunshine.

2. Fill Your Cup: When you’re focused on being kind to yourself you can then pay it forward to be supportive and give to others. There’s a reason we hear the message “Please fit your oxygen mask before helping others” on every flight – we can’t pour from an empty cup. Fill your cup with good stuff, and practice being kind to yourself through reading your favourite magazine, having a bubble bath, watching a guilty pleasure TV show, or even just taking that much-needed nap!

3. Talk it Out: Do you have good people you can talk to? Often just chatting about our stress and concerns can be the shift we need if you’re in a funk. Talking about wins, future goals and things that have made you laugh this week is also a great way of being positive and practising gratitude.

Sourcing some professional support if you’re feeling in a particularly tricky place is invaluable. These tips are designed to help you relax and reset, but if you’re feeling overwhelmed and your state of mind isn’t shifting it’s okay to ask for help. There is no shame in seeking support from professionals to get the help you need.
