Mental load is a hot topic. Many of us identify with how heavy our brains feel and the weight of our tasks and expectations.

High levels of mental load have significant effects on physical and mental performance and can be detrimental to individuals long term.

We see this daily with the clients we work with and find that a few key things can help ease this load:

  • Ask for help. Is there a reason you are doing it all on your own? Sometimes asking for help, or talking through your load can help to ease it.
  • Write it down. If you don’t have anyone you can ask for help then try to clear the clutter from your brain. Prioritise your list and action the important & urgent tasks first.
  • Schedule your day. Block out times for specific tasks and stay on track. Reclaim your time by setting clear boundaries on who can interrupt you and what time of the day is solely yours.

We are always here to help so if you have any questions on mental load or tips specific to you then please reach out.
